Beautification
CCDC Foundation strives to support a wide range of
beautification efforts that make cities and villages
in Champaign County more attractive and livable. The
Foundation has funded many worthy beautification projects
over the years, some of which include the following:
- $25,000 Challenge Grant for public
agencies and private businesses to improve the community
entrances into Champaign and Urbana
- Contribution of 27 varieties of trees
to the Rantoul Depot Park beautification project
- Proposing and funding assistance for
planning and development of Mini-Parks in Champaign
and Urbana
- $30,000 gift for planting 200 shade
trees along two miles of University Avenue to commemorate
the University of Illinois’ Centennial
- Funding for landscape improvements
to Willard Airport
- Funding for the Edie Ingle Wildflower
Garden and the Native Illinois Habitat Garden at the
Urbana Park District’s Anita Purves
Nature Center
- Funding for tree planting at the Champaign
County Courthouse
