Community Issues
CCDC Foundation supports statewide legislative efforts
and other local governmental affairs that promote sound
conservation and preservation practices. Examples of
previous and on-going efforts include:
- Support for the establishment
of the Champaign County Regional Planning Commission
- Support for the establishment of the
City of Champaign and City of Urbana Tree Commissions
- Support for the establishment of the
Boneyard Creek Commission and funding for various
stream rehabilitation projects
- Support for local ordinances to control
and limit the use of billboard and signage
- Participation in the Illinois Department
of Natural Resources Conservation Congress
- Partnerships with other local agencies
and environmental groups to promote local, county
and/or statewide legislative efforts regarding environmental
issues
